Live Long and Prosper at the Dallas Museum of Art

We teased it for a while, but just in case you missed out, I had the great honor of speaking at the Dallas Museum of Art this past Thursday for their monthly Second Thursdays with a Twist event. I was asked to talk about how Star Trek has changed the concept of fandoms into the face of modern pop culture. (Yes, to all of the non-trekkies out there, it may surprise you to know that the favorable light that nerd culture enjoys today in public is in large part due to all of the effort Star Trek has put in to shaping every aspect of nerdy fandoms.) It was a pleasure to be asked to speak & the audience was absolutely fantastic! For everyone that was able to attend, thank you very much for coming out. It was wonderful to see you all!

As a final note to my fellow speakers from the Perot Museum & SMU Meadows School of the Arts: you were both fantastic & it was wonderful meeting you both!

Brad Sigler

Brad is brains behind Dallas Geek. With a background in photography & social media management, he provides the technical knowledge to this nerdy team. As a life long cinephile, his extensive knowledge of movie history, along with his obsession for everything Star Wars & all things sci-fi, gives more than enough nerdy knowledge to round out the Dallas Geek brain trust.
