Would a Modern Audience Hate Home Alone?

For anyone who grew up in the 90’s, one of the most beloved movies for most of us is easily the original Home Alone. However, would this smash hit from our childhoods be as big of a deal if it were released to audiences today, without the benefit of nostalgia to help it along?
