Spotlight Sunday: Sandy Steen

Spotlight Sunday: Sandy Steen

For this week's Spotlight Sunday segment, we have a new mystery series from author Sandy Steen: the Parker Doyle Mysteries! Sandy has spent the past 30 years gaining acclaim for her romance novels, beginning with Past Perfect in 1987 & continuing on with such hits as Meet Me in Texas, Some Kind of Hero, & One Hot Night. After such a long & successful run with romance, she felt inspired to venture into the realm of the cozy mystery novel. For those unfamiliar with that term, cozy mysteries, also known as cozies, are a subgenre of crime fiction in which sex & violence are downplayed or treated humorously, & the crime & detection take place in a small, socially intimate community. It is a way to tell more adult oriented stories without the being overly reliant on the gratuitously graphic imagery that crime fiction can so often focus on.

For her debut mystery novel, Sandy brings us a taste of the supernatural with “Murder, He Howled”! The book focuses on protagonist Parker Doyle: professor, best-selling author, &…werewolf. When people connected to Parker start turning up dead he fears he’s being framed. Throughout the book, he i forced to use his curse to solve the crimes & clear his name. Whether you are interested in a good mystery or a fun tale of the supernatural, the Parker Doyle Mysteries is a series worth your time!
