Bryan Massey On What It's Really Like To Be a Voice Actor

While we were at this year’s Galactic Swag Expo, we had the incredible chance to speak with Bryan Massey! Best known for his work voicing Oolong from the Dragon Ball franchise, Ladd Russo from Baccano!, & Cocytus from Overlord (among so many others), Bryan has spent his career portraying some wonderfully larger than life characters that have found a special place among the nerdy fandoms. However, while his work in voice acting has gained significant notoriety, it is important to point out that those roles only make up about half of his acting experiences. Starting on stage from a young age, he participated in his school’s theater program, community theater after that, & finally did some professional theater work before moving on to Hollywood. There he has had the chance to work on several high profile projects for both TV & the big screen, including The X-Files, Prison Break, Oliver Stone’s W., Drive Angry, & Mad Money.

With so much range of acting experience & a long established history voicing characters for some of the most popular anime in recent history, it seems only natural that he would want to give back to the industry that has given him such a long career. Bryan currently spends his time between recording sessions working with StarMan Studios as their in-house director & providing his expertise as a voice acting coach for their acting workshops! Many aspiring voice actors have sought out his help to perfect their craft, several of whom have already gone on to work for anime studios like Funimation. Whether you are an aspiring voice actor or just a fan of anime, we can’t emphasize enough how much you need to meet Bryan in person! He is has such a big personality & is absolutely wonderful to talk to. Don’t forget to check out the links to his social media bellow to keep up with his latest projects & appearances.
