Doc's Comics & Games at Fan Expo Dallas

Comic book stores have gone through an interesting evolution in recent history. Up through the late 90’s, they were the thing that every other nerdy kid wanted to own when they grew up. The idea of being surrounded by the comic books & characters that you loved all day long & getting to introduce other people to them was amazing! As time went on, though, the reality of that dream became a bit more complicated. By the mid-2000’s, everything started going digital, including comics. While there will always be a place for physical comics for enthusiasts & collectors, casual readers started to become less common at comic book stores. So, to combat this, comic book store owners had to change the very nature of what it meant to be a comic book store in the modern era. With the rise of comic conventions’ popularity, many of them realized that they had a unique opportunity to offer something that no one else could. They could give people a taste of comic con every week!

That’s where Doc’s Comics & Games comes in. Murdock Belt, aka Doc, saw that other comic book stores had started to offer games & nerdy merch in their stores, with some going even further & hosting game nights & tournaments to create a community around ALL of the nerdy fandoms that most of the popular conventions were catering to. However, Doc noticed that there was still a gap in the community that he was a part of & decided to fix that. If you go to Doc’s Comics & Games now, you’ll see not only a fantastic selection of comic books, both popular & niche, but a thriving gaming community with game nights nearly every night of the week. If you’re not fluent in nerd, but find yourself a bit nerd-curious, Doc’s has a very knowledgeable staff that can answer whatever questions you have. They even have periodic gaming classes to help teach the uninitiated how to play. Located in Frisco, TX a bit north of Stonebriar Mall, Doc’s is the place where you can let your nerd flag fly & have fun doing it!
